»TALES FROM THE READING ROOM ist ein inno­va­tives Doku-Drama über die vielen roman­ti­schen Begeg­nungen, die den Akade­mi­kern in den Stunden des Studie­rens in der berühmten British Library wider­fuhren. Der Film wurde in dem stillen Rund des Lesesaals gedreht und thema­ti­siert die hoch­e­mo­tio­nale und drama­ti­sche Stimmung, die das Schließen dieser histo­ri­schen Biblio­thek hervor­ruft. Die Filmcrew ist die letzte, die Zugang zu diesem einzig­ar­tigen Gebäude erhält.

TALES FROM THE READING ROOM is an inno­va­tive docu-drama revealing intimate tales of the many romantic encoun­ters that blossomed amongst scholars, during their hours of study in the famous British Library. The film is set in the stunning circular Reading Room and, as the last film crew to ever gain access to this unique building, the film exposes the dramatic and emotional closing of this historic library.

Minkie Spiro

1989-90 Besuch des Ravens­bourne College of Design, 1990-93 der Central Saint Martins School of Art mit dem Schwer­punkt Grafik Design. 1995 Studium und Abschluss als Film­re­gis­seurin am Royal College of Art. Seit 1995 Dozentin für Design. 1998 wurde sie als ›Creative Woman of the Year‹ gelobt. Foto­grafin und Filme­ma­cherin.
