»›Dieser von mir selbst gedrehte Film ist die Aufzeich­nung meiner 30jährigen Karriere als Straßen­künstler (Tänzer). Er zeigt meine Tanz­tour­neen durch Japan im Wechsel der vier Jahres­zeiten. Im Zentrum des Doku­men­tar­films stehen die Tanz­szenen, wie der Kondolenz-Tanz für die Opfer des großen Erdbebens von Hanshin 1995. Ebenso führt der Film die Perfor­mances in meiner Heimat­stadt, den Tanz zum Andenken an meine Mutter am Strand und den Tanz, mit dem ich meine Dank­bar­keit für die Stadt, in der ich einst lebte und die mich in die Kunst der Straßen­per­for­mance einweihte, vor. Der Film endet mit einer Szene, in der ich im Schnee im Einklang mit der Natur tanze und über meine Gefühle spreche.‹ – GILYAK AMAGASAKI

›This film, directed by myself, is the records of my 30-year career as a street performer (dancer). It filmed my dance tours in each of the four seasons in Japan. It is a docu­men­tary film featuring dancing scenes including the dance of condo­lences to the victims of Great Hanshin Eart­h­quake in 1995. The perfor­mance in my home town, the memorial dance for my mother on a beach and the dance so naturally expres­sing my gratitude in the town where I once lived in my young days and learned the spirit of street performer are also filmed. The film ends with the scene that I dance in snow harmo­ni­sing with nature and the narrative by myself of my feelings.‹ – GILYAK AMAGASAKI

Geboren 1930. Begann 1957 mit dem Tanzen. Erste Straßen­per­for­mances 1968. Seither trat Gilyak Amagasaki nicht nur in Japan, sondern auch in Paris, Moskau, New York etc. auf. Verschie­dene Zeitungen, Zeit­schriften und das Fernsehen berich­teten schon über seine Perfor­mances.
