Bhavant­arana erforscht die Tiefen des indischen Tanzes an der dyna­mi­schen Inter­pre­ta­tion des Guru Kelu­charan Mohapatra, dem fein­sin­nigsten Vertreter des Odissi-Ausdrucks. Sein Leben und Werk sind geprägt von Philo­so­phie und Ethik, wie wir sie aus den Rig Veda und den Upani­schaden kennen.

Bhavant­arana explores the depths of Indian dance through its dynamic perfor­mance by Guru Kelu­charan Mohapatra, the finest exponent of the Odissi form. His life and his work are inter­woven within the epic, philo­so­phical modes of aest­he­tics that have come town to us from their origins in the Rig Veda and the Upanis­hads. It illu­mi­nates the signi­fi­cance that emanates from every eye movement and gesture in work and play.
