Nangula Gideon und Nangula Cornelius sind zwei Namibianerinnen
Anfang 20, die gemeinsam ihre Kindheit im Exil in der DDR verbrachten.
1990 kamen sie als Schülerinnen in das afrikanische Land
zurück, das sie Jahre zuvor während des Befreiungskrieges
als Kleinkinder verlassen mußten.
Der Film begleitet
die jungen Frauen auf der Reise von der europäisch geprägten
Hauptstadt Windhoek in den traditionellen Norden des Landes,
wo die Familien der beiden wohnen. Im Gegensatz zu ihnen lebte
der 19jährige Farmersohn Franz Kurz in Namibia unter der
südafrikanischen Besatzung. Durch ihn erfahren wir etwas
über das Leben als Farbiger während der Apartheid und
welche Perspektiven es heute und morgen für junge Namibianer
gibt.
Nangula Gideon and Nangula Cornelius are two twenty years
old Namibian women who spent their childhood together in tne
GDR. In 1990 they came back as pupils to an African country which
they had to leave when they were very young. The film accompanies
the young ladies on their trup from the European influenced capital
Windhoek to the traditional north of the country, where the families
of both live.
At the opposite, Franz Kurz, a 19 years old
son of a farmer-family lived under the rules of the apartheid
before the independence of Namibia. He tells us things from the
apartheid-period and about the perspectives of young Namibians.

Geboren 1965 in Flörsheim am Main. Ausbildung zum
Landwirt, Filmstudium an den Universitäten Kassel und Lissabon.
Seit 1994 freier Filmemacher und Lehrbeauftragter für Filmgestaltung
an der Fachhochschule Wiesbaden.
