Im Mittelpunkt unserer Dokumentation stehen die Schicksale und
Lebensweisheiten von fünf älteren Homosexuellen. Das
Zentrum des Films ist ihre Stammkneipe, „Le Clou“. Hier finden
sie das „pralle Leben“. Hier herrscht Maßlosigkeit, weil
man vieles versäumt hat und noch schnell mitnehmen möchte.
Der Genuß des Augenblicks und die Schamlosigkeit im Umgang
mit Leidenschaften treten zutage in Exzessen und alptraumhaften
Zusammenbrüchen, in Neid , Mißgunst und innerer Verzweiflung.
Die Kneipe wird zum Wohnzimmer der großen und kleinen Gefühle.
Neben dem Millionär sitzt der arbeitslose Freier, neben
dem Schauspieler sitzt der Stricher. Alle sozialen Schichten
sind hier vertreten. Die Kneipe ist ein „melting pot“ der Gegensätze.
Und dennoch haben sie alle hier eines gemeinsam: den verzweifelten
Wunsch nach Liebe.

Our documentary focuses on the lives and philosophy
of five elderly homsexuals. The film’s main location is their
local, a bar called „Le Clou“. This is where a group of elderly
gay men are able to live life to the full, for here there are
no restrictions, no bounds; the men who meet at „Le Clou“ have
already missed out on so much and are desperate to make the most
of everything. Their need to savour the pleasures of the moment,
to give vent to their passions shamelessly, can be excessive
and can descend into nightmarish breakdowns, jealousy, resentment
and despair. The bar becomes a living room for all kinds of emotions,
big and small. Here one can find a millionaire sitting shoulder
to shoulder with an enemployed client; an actor next to a rent
boy.
This is a bar where men of all walks of life meet; a
melting pot of opposites. And yet they all have one thing in
common: their desire to find love.

Treut.
