Auf der Suche nach den verborgenen Seiten kubanischen Lebens
folgt der Film dem charakteristischen Rhythmus kubanischer Musik,
dem Cinquillo Cubano. Die Popularmusik spielt in Kuba eine große
Rolle. Sie umgibt die Menschen wie das Meer die Insel.
Und
eben diese Popularmusik war es, die die Familie Vistel Colombié
vor Jahrzehnten in Kuba bekannt machte - in Militärkapellen
und Jazzbands, als Straßenmusiker, Musikschullehrer, Arrangeure,
Musikforscher. Auch heute spielt für die Vistels mit ihren
neun erwachsenen Kindern die Musik eine große Rolle ...
Der
Film vermittelt, wie in einem Mikrokosmus, ein pralles, vielfarbiges
Sittengemälde der heutigen kubanischen Gesellschaft.
During
its search for the hidden aspects of Cuban life, the film follows
the characteristic rhythm of Cuban music, the Cinquillo Cubano.
Popular music plays an important part in life in Cuba. It is
the pulse, the rhythm and the language of everyday life. The
music surrounds the people like the sea surrounds the islands.
It
was this popular music that made the Vistel-Colombié family famous
in Cuba decades ago - in military bands and jazz groups, as street
musicians, music teachers, arrangers and music scientists. The
Vistel family is made up of the parents and their nine grown-up
children. Each was first taught about music by their father.
Still today, music remained an important and integral part of
their lives ...
The look into their day to day existence goes
to the roots of Cuban life. The Vistels and their surroundings
portray, like in a microcosm, an amazingly full, multicoloured
picture of contemporary Cuban society.

Kraußer
Geboren 1943 in Hildburghausen in Thüringen;
Ausbildung und Tätigkeit in medizinischen Berufen. 1966-71
Studium an der Filmhochschule Potsdam-Babelsberg, Fachrichtung
Dramaturgie; ab 1969 Dramaturg und Autor im DEFA-Studio für
Dokumentarfilme. 1976-90 Regisseur im DEFA-Studio für Dokumentarfilme.
Seit 1990 freier Filmemacher. Verschiedene Kinderfilme. Mehrere
Hauptpreise bei Kinderfilmfestivals. Diverse Beiträge für
das ZDF-Magazin „Blickpunkt“.
