Die Geschichte von Anna Belova und ihren drei Brüdern. Die
liebevolle Pflege von Hof und Tier gehört ebenso zu ihrem
Leben wie qualvolle Streitigkeiten, Trunksucht, Altern und Einsamkeit.
Der Filmemacher zeigt einen heutigen russischen Dorfalltag mit
all seinen tragisch komischen Elementen. Es gelingt ihm, über
Begebenheiten des Dorf lebens in die komplizierte Psyche der
Helden vorzudringen. Der vielfach preisgekrönte Film sprengte
die bisher in Rußland gültigen Konventionen der dokumentarischen
Filmsprache und der Behandlung des Dorf Sujets. 1994 war er ein
Höhepunkt des Münchner Dokumentarfilmfestivals.

story of Anna Belova and her three brothers. The loving care
for farm and animals belongs as well to their lives as hurting
fights, alcoholism, aging and loneliness. The filmmaker shows
a recent russian village with all its tragic comic elements.
He succeeds in penetrating into the difficult mental state of
his protagonists by showing the incidents of a life in a village.
The many times award winning film burst open the valid russian
rules of telling a documentary film and treating the subject
village. 1994 the film also had been one highlight of the Munich
Documentary Filmfesti val.
