Ein Enkel besucht seinen Großvater in Rußland und fragt ihn, warum er nie nach Weiß­ruß­land zurück­ge­kehrt ist. Ohne Antwort erhebt sich der Großvater und entfernt sich. Er kann seinem 13-jährigen Enkel nicht erklären, warum er fünfzig Jahre seines Lebens weit weg von seinem Vaterland verbracht hat. Der Enkel möchte verstehen, was Heimat bedeutet. Kann man in ihr ein erfüll­teres Leben führen. Denn auch der Junge wird bald emigrieren. Aber in den Westen.
